Curriculum
Naseem International School is
currently making preparations for the implementation of the IB Middle Years Program (MYP). Faculty members are involved
in the necessary professional development and the program
will be introduced as a pilot in September 2004 to Grades 7
and 8.
The MYP was developed to promote
international understanding, responsible citizenship,
student-centered inquiry and better communication skills.
The program provides learning in a broad base of disciplines
to ensure that students acquire the knowledge and skills
necessary to prepare for the future. The program encourages
the use of a variety of teaching and learning methodologies
to produce a climate where students discover how they learn
best in different contexts.

The middle school curriculum offers a broad and balanced
education, preparing students for the rigors of the High
School program. All students study the following subjects in
mixed ability classes: Arabic, English, Math, Science,
Arabic Social Studies, Islamic, Religion. Music, Information
Technology, Global Studies, Art and Physical
Education. As part of the school’s commitment to continuous
self-evaluation in order to serve the needs and interests of
the NIS community, the school will pilot the IBO’s Middle
Years Program (MYP) from September 2004 in the belief that
with its emphasis on student-centered and independent
learning, it will foster and develop those skills required
for the High School program, further education and life-long
learning.
