The IB Diploma at NIS is a
two-year course of study. Each candidate
takes six subjects. In addition, the
candidates must follow a two-year course in
the Theory of Knowledge (how we know what we
know) and write an Extended Essay (an
extensive piece of independent research). In
addition, students must also
complete 150 hours of Creativity, Action,
and Service activities.
Certificates in individual IB subjects may
also be taken by students as part of their
Grade 11/12 High School Diploma programme.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

of 4,000 words or less, acquaints diploma
candidates with the kind of independent
